We Could Be Heroes

Forget "Lost" and Prison Break", the ultimate in serial television is making it's way to mainstream television. If you've been unlucky enough to miss "Heroes" on either Sci-fi or Channel 6 or you didn't watch it because it was about superheroes and therefore obviously for kids (wrong!), make sure you catch it when it starts on BBC2 tomorrow night at 9pm with a back-to-back screening of the first two episodes.

"Heroes" tells the story of ordinary people who discover that they have extra-ordinary powers and whose ultimate destiny is to save the world.

In it's first year it's already received 8 Emmy nominations including best drama and won the Television Critics Association award for Programme of the Year last weekend in the States.

If that isn't enough to convince you to watch, it's even been praised right here in our little group:

Milan Adenauer said: "I love Heroes; as with Die Hard, it's a power thing"

Midget Wrangler loves "Heroes and the guy who plays peter petrelli (?) is in Fergi's new video...yumm" (personally I prefer Sylar... Mr Pink)

Someone Living "Absolutely LOVE Heroes. It seems to be getting better and better.Does it remind anyone else of the Watchmen comis book series?Am I the only one here ever to have read it?"

  1. There was a very good interview with the guy who buys shows in for RTÉ on Ryan Tubridy's show last week.

He reckoned it would have died a death if shown over here cos we don't go sci-fi.

Makes you feel proud of the escalating Television Tax, doesn't it?

  3. That's what we all love RTE so much. Cause after all Irish people hate Dr Who.

  8. sylar schmylar, and Peter's grand, but its all about Nathan for me, he starts off the bad guy on the good side but then turns into the really cool guy from half way and he was my favourite from then - hence the image of him on my Heroes posting. I read that he's one of the people contracted for Series 2 so it's all good.

Ok, I've been trying to hide my gender all along here but this only reveals my general sexual orientation so I chose to maintain mysterious.

Mr. Pink - it's been on Channel 6 for the normal telly people for ages now.

  9. Eh, me. Admittedly only for Heroes. I'm sure they have other shows too.
