3. Miracle on 34th Street: The original form 1947 (although the 1994 version starring Richard Attenborough's not that bad). Natalie Wood steals the show as precocious Susan Walker who doesn't believe in Santa Claus. So in a twist worthy of a soap opera, who should show up but old Kris Kingle himself, delightfully played by Edmund Gwenn. The sweet Kringle touches everyone he meets (not in a bad way. I know how your minds work!) and proclaims that he is indeed, Santa Claus. Those who don't believe try to have him committed and during the trial of the century, Kris must convince the authorities he is who he claims to be.

ReplyDeleteAhem! You weren't supposed to notice! It was but then I realised that I'm going to be a little short on time and have limited PC access in the coming week and I've set myself the challenge of writing twelve posts before Christmas so a little bit of editing was neccessary!
