A sad day for a few of us here.

Sunday I got a call from my mum, strangely I knew what was coming when Paula answered the phone.

Muffin our family dog for 16 years had to be put to sleep. People dont understand how hard this can be for folk, it is like a family member passing away.

Think Ails post sums up how all my family are feeling about this loss, but the person I am most worried about is my almost 3 year old daughter who goes down to Carlow to see Muffin first then nana and grandad. We have said nothing to her yet about this and probably wont until the next time we go down, hopefully her young age will mean she wont get to upset.

  3. I definitely understand, it's so hard having to make the decision and takes a good while to get used to it. I've never had a human family member die (yet!)but when we had to put our Wicklow Collie down 5 years ago this month. She was my first memory from when I was 2, bringing her home in the car & her peeing in the cardboard box in the boot. It was like the end of an era, I'll never forget her.

As with any death it takes time to heal ...we waited a month or so and got a new rescue dog. He's great, well we pretty much had to as our Cocker Spaniel was also grieving/moping around the house. I hope Becs will be ok and the rest of the family :)
