Ho! Ho! Homo!

I didn't think it was possible but "Doctor Who" is about to get gayer. This year's "Doctor Who" Christmas special will be (some) gay men's idea of heaven as pop princess Kylie Minogue has been cast as stop-gap companion Astrid.

According to the BBC press release...

Kylie Minogue steps back in time this festive season, as she joins Time Lord David Tennant for a spectacular Doctor Who Christmas Special set on board The Titanic.

At the end of the last series, viewers witnessed the [sic] The Titanic crash through the Tardis walls in spectacular style, and the action continues from that moment.

Kylie, who plays Astrid, a waitress on The Titanic, says: "It is an incredible thrill to be joining David and the entire Dr Who production for this year's Christmas special. Dr Who enjoys a unique history and it is going to be very exciting to be a part of that."

Meanwhile, the official BBC "Doctor Who" website has just launched a Who themed advent calendar... www.bbc.co.uk/doctorwho

  1. I was on a lig in BBC Cardiff a couple of months ago. Rang SL to tell him that I'd been in the Tardis (well on the set). He's still not talking to me.

  4. I spat in Tib's latte after that. Really impressed with the Kylie thing, Rose coming back and the rumpurs of Tom Cruise! The Chilren In Need 8 minute short with Peter Davison was great too (written by Steven Moffatt who wrote the Blink episode we all liked so much in last season).

Not liking? The gap year Russell Davies is taking although I can understand why.
