Myself and Jo were both at the Newtown Faulkner gig in the Village on Monday evening! Wow, I don't know about Jo but I was blown away, he's an amazing singer and performer, doing things with guitars I would have thought impossible! He really was a treat, the audience was a mixed bag (sometimes people watching at these things is as pleasurable as the event itself), there were young teenagers, middlies (like me) and then the well heeled oldies!
I was up in the balcony, just right over his little dreadlocked head, he did the entire gig in his socks, which I could get comfortable with (I have a weird thing about feet, just don't them! I know what they do, but I don't want to look at them!) So looking down at the top of his head his hair is thinning a bit (and I doubt if dreadlocks and a bald patch would work!). From his first song to his last including "Sponge Bob Square Pants" and "Bohemian Rhapsody", he was amazing! And I was struck with the line once uttered by Emma Thompson to Stephen Fry in "Peter's Friends" "Fill me with your little (wittle?) babies!"
I didn't sout it out, but next time.....
AW my daughter has that feet-phobia too! You're both freaks!!!

ReplyDeleteRp, he was pestered to do Sponge Bob from the time he came on stage, I am wondering when he's gonna drop that, imagine writing all this amazing stuff and then being asked to sing that! Jesus though he could sing anything and it would make me melt!
