It's not easy to juggle...

...a pregnant wife (Dan Castellaneta 1957 - )

Is it just me or has anyone else noticed the mountain (no pun intended) or pregnant women that are around?

You can't seem to move in Dublin within the past couple of weeks without bumping (again no pun intended) into a woman in the late stages of bloom.

Did something happen back in September to instill a need to breed into people? Did Jose Mourinho's departure from Chelsea leave women around the country lamenting his loss? Perhaps the volcanic eruption on Jabal al-Tair made people realise that even the most dormant of entities can have life left in it or maybe the capture of one of the FBI's most wanted men, Diego Leon Montoya Sanchez, had women shedding their knickers safe in the knowledge that the streets again were safe.

Am I (again) in the minority?

  1. In the news, the Dáil today unanimously passed a measure to investigate the connection between volcanic eruptions and the dramatic increase in pregnancies throughout Ireland in 2008.

Scientists from Trinity College are about to release a new study proving the link between the reduced sale in prophylactics and volcanoes pumping dust and thrusting various types of gases into the air when they erupt.

"Men are simply inspired by nature," one professor claimed when asked about the number of women ready to give birth in Ireland's national maternity hospitals. "Men and volcanoes equally live for the moment, paying no attention to the long-term effects of their eruptions."

The Taoiseach Bertie Ahern, on a fact-finding mission to a Yemeni island in the Red Sea where lava spewed hundreds of metres into the air yesterday, could not be reached for comment.

  5. VL - did your friend turn you off it? I think I'll feel too young to have kids when I'm 70.
