The Great 49£ Survey

Forget Hillary & Barack

Forget Dev & Collins

Forget even Keane and McCarthy.

What we really want to know is, when you were younger was it King or Tayto?

There can only be one answer; no on-the-fencers; no posh crisp substitutions.

I was always firmly in the King camp; they were a staple of the crisps sandwich; I prefer the cheesy/oniony flavour of King over the strong salty taste of Tayto; although I know I was in the minority; but we'll see.

  1. I'm on the fence. These days, King. Especially since Tayto got that strong 'cheese' flavour a la 'gournet' style crisps.

But I liked to vary it when I was younger.

Does anyone remember Key crisps, I think they were, that came with a twist of salt in the packet?

  2. King, all the way. Tayto are rubbish and it bugs me that culchies use Taytos as a generic name for all crisps. Like they've never heard of the word "crisps" Jeez....

You so have the finger on the pulse Milan of all the burning issues... ;-)
I'm so glad to get that culchie rant off my chest. Us Dubs can't go too long without one and it's been a while...

  3. Yes, mulchies. But we do have some blow-out Dulchies in 49£ and a travelling mac cluchie so you have to be careful.

On the subject of crisps I remember when tayto were first out and they were plain with a bag of salt . Even the packaging was nice it was more papery than silvery

  7. It was King crisps all the way growing up. Nowadays I prefer Tayto. Did you know they're made by the same company?

  10. King PUB crisps. MW has her finger on the pulse. Subtle variation. These days they all taste different since they started frying in sunflower oil to keep the calories down.

I buy a twirl. Eat little bit of twirl. Eat some crisps. repeat till all gone. Reminds me of when I used to go to kiddy parties.
