Blogger's block?

Hi.

I know I've been missing for a while and maybe this is a litle mea culpa to you all. I am, after all, supposed to be the daddy here.

Sorry for the lack of commenting and posting (noticed by a few who gave out to me, thanks for nothing lads!) but it's been a rough few weeks and personal blogging hasn't been at the top of my list of priorities. As you'll know if you know me I don't have the bravery of many of you to post about personal things in their lives. Maybe I can't say certain things publicly, maybe I think there are just some things that shouldn't be published on the internet when it comes to you personally, maybe.... Well, whatever.

A close family member died recently after a long illness coinciding with a major birthday in my life, a strange combination to deal with, and then the break-up of my relationship. It's all a buffeting the likes of which I haven't gone through in a while. Then what started as a few days away from here initially, became a few weeks. Sorry.

Then this morning I was in Shan's place of business and he gave me a suitable kick up the hole, so here I am again with nothing appropriate to say for here. Can you get blogger's block?

I do have to say a huge hello to the other prominent bloggers who either through comment or personal conversation have revealed recently that they read here frequently. You know who you are. If you're a lurker too please don't be! The encouragement taken from even a simple one word comment by someone we ourselves know and read is amazing and not to be underestimated. We read and comment on yours too, maybe not using these names but there nonetheless.

Mulley has also set up a Blog Post Of The Month award that we can nominate for! Perhaps pick one of our own every now and then?

Late now, more soon I hope.

  2. Welcome back SL, sorry for being a pest yesterday but in the bad times maybe posting here can help somewhat, well thats what I find when I am angered by O2 and other stuff, gets a shit load of my chest.

As Jo said sorry for your loss, but if you ever need a chat or shit give me a shout, I am always a good listener for 2 minutes then I ramble on for hours.

  3. Sad to hear about your bad few weeks. Keep posting I love reading all of them.I'm sure the last thing you needed was for Shan to hand over his phone the other night to talk to some unknown aul one.

  4. Well, needless to say, I'm a personal blogger. I talk about my adoption, my nights out, my working life and studies (and of course my manbag) - but I don't really have much else to talk about. I'm not much of a political mind and don't have any strong religious beliefs. I don't have any strong opinions at all really.

It's fun to blog about your life and I'd really encourage it. Sometimes life is wonderful, but sometimes it can be tough. Either way, it's helpful to talk about it, so keep it up.

  6. @SL: I suppose just give it time, SL. I'm taking a bit of a break too. Don't be so hard on yourself either.

You need time to sit back and process what's happening. I suppose clarity returns with reflection. I think we all need a little time to reflect without shiny baubles of distraction.

Work through it as you will. Some like to write, others to disconnect. Find your place.
