Most retold blog stories & who said what..

I know I end up retelling a lot of the 49£ stories in the real world in the sort of "a friend of mine was telling me..." and leaving it at that. Some stories are too good not to be shared. The one I know I've told tons of times is the one about the woman sitting in the men's changing rooms reading a rag mag waiting for her son - it always gets a great reaction.

I confess I can't remember who wrote it. For me, who still only knows a handful of my fellow pickers to see, I can never remember who said what. I think this story was by TB's. Then polka or JM told me about Marian Keyes's blog which I love and tell everyone about - and still I can't remember who it was that mentioned it. I think without an image the name of the poster doesn't stick. I do have a sense of what everyone is like but just don't know who said what right now. is anyone else like this?

  1. I'm than Marian Keyes fan...

I dont know, I think I have an image of people, in an e-space way, rather than in the way I know people in rela life, as it were. Thouh I must admit, my image of MW from her blog was totally not what she was when I met her. But who knows, maybe it is a truer aspect of herself that's just less visible face to face?

  2. oh my god.....what did you think I'd be like? and which do you prefer? Jesus, you mean talking about sex? that you thought I'd be like Sam from sex in the city, bowjob this and dildo that ? :-p I am a mother of three kids, not really the kind of persona I'd like people to think I had " mummy can I go on a playdate to johnnys house?" "No, his mum bakes cookies in the shape of erect penises...penisi?"

  3. Penii :-)

Luckily, I met MW before I read her blog, so the blog fit the person, in my mind. Hell, she and I were texting novels at night to each other :-).

Ash is quieter in person, but I love what she writes. SL...well, he's a whole other story. GB wasn't what I expected, but it was for how much we laughed. Shan was close. Atreus...well, he's a freak.

  4. I always expected the bloggers to look like their avatar. And Polka you were just like yours!! And since I met a few of you I can't remember how I pictured you beforehand. Milan your avatar is male so that was so confusing!

But I know what you mean it's easier to rememeber who wrote what now that I know what some of them look like!

  5. Oh, sorry Midge, I knew I'd freak you out. I can't even quite remember what I thought. I think I thouht you'd be tougher, and a bit more intimidating. You're not at all intimidating! You're sweet. I thought you'd have dark hair in a pony tail, I don't know why.

None of it to do with the stuff you've mentioned. More about the anti-mother stuff. It was only an impression from your first few posts. It was good, too - bt in real life you're a delight! Relax! The sex toy stuff never even came into it!

  7. haha, I don't know any of you to see as I am just a lurker so imagination it is. That's the thing about these things - I post on a message board and have done for the past 6 or so years, there is often talk of meeting up but I just think it would be weird. Half the fun of these things to me is being anonymous :)

  10. Thanks for the invite MW. I fear I would not be a very active contributor, I have a tendancy to be a bit of a lazy blogger. I think I will enjoy my current position as lurker extraordinaire.I do feel a bit bad though that I am imposing on a group of people who know each other - hope no one minds, I enjoy reading this blog and the individual ones a lot.

  11. Voodoo, just so's you know, only a few of us know each other. Majority have met on the blog. I've only met Ash and Shan cause of the drinks thing, I've met MW, SL and Jo through other blogs. There's two or three others I've met in random places, and that's it. But it's not like we're all great mad friends who hang out all the time! :-) Other than virtually a'course.
