Happy thought....

Was lying thinking in bed last night, and it occured to me that of all the 6,660,000,000 people currently living in the world, in somewhere between 100 and 150 years, every single one of them will be dead. That's 6.66 billion people that will exist no more. There's something weird about that. Maybe human extinction is not so far off possible.

  1. Milan,

You've touched upon a long-running thought of my own. With all of the cemetaries used to bury all of the people, statistically so few get cremated (or put in mass graves) that you'd expect us to technically run out of room for all of the burial sites.

Nearly 7 billion people, every 100 years? That's 7 billion skeletons taking up space somewhere.

  2. But they don't last forever. How long does it take to become dust?

I don't see why human extinction is remotely implausible. It's on the way, folks. Sell your seaside property now, I tell ya.
