It's not really a small world..

It's a small world

We all know this is the case sometimes; there's always connections between people; random coincidences; people meeting on the street in a far corner of the world; not seeing someone for a while then bumping into them 3 times in a week; etc, etc.

But then there's the other side. Where you lose touch with people you know from school, work etc, and they may be living down the road and yet you never bump into them.

Ever.

I can think of many such examples of people I've been living within a mile of and haven't bumped into in 1, 10 or 20 years.

There are lots of people I'd love to bump into again, I can think of a school friend I haven't seen since 1990, I've no idea where she is now or what she's up to but she was great.

I can think of another person of cherished memory I used to randomly meet on the bus for years, but the bus has failed me these 11 years now.

I know someone who would always walk around but never through Trinity because he had a friend who did just that, and bumped into an old flame that caused him to leave his family and change his life.

I don't think we have any choice but to let fate run our lives. I could be brave and seek out these people but I know I never will. They'll just live on as part of my memory until maybe some day fate might give me a very rare treat. God knows fate has been a total b-ll-cks to me all my life and owes me bigtime.

  1. I agree with you Milan there are a couple of people I would love to see again and find out about what they've done with their lives.

  2. Don't be afraid Milan, recently I stumbled on someone I hadn't spoken to in years and it was hysterical to play catch up! What have you got to lose? ;)

  3. I will say that in the inevitable way that these things happen. I bumped into someone the next morning I haven't seen in 2 year in the airport at 7.30am. It was great to see them.
