dentist part 2

Just home, mouth still numb but the worst part is over . thanks to everyone for their kind thought's i really appreciated it , I can smile again , I had eight teeth out today and new ones put in the injections are starting to wear off so pain is kicking in but my new teeth look great, will take a bit of getting used to and I know I will have a lot of pain for a few day's but I've had that for years.

Again thanks for all your thought's and will keep you updated. just keep fingers crossed that the trigemenal neuralgia does'nt kick in

  1. God, ails, what a massive job! Did they do that under local anaesthetic??

Well done for getting through it, I hope recovery goes well and no other problems surface.

  2. Wow Ails - I didn't realise it was that big a job. I thought they might put you under for something that big.

Glad to know you survived and it's all worth it.

Take it easy for the day - and have some painkillers nearby...just in case.

    Feel better!

  4. Poor you! I'm glad to hear the new teeth look great and I'm sure you will again too once it all calms down. Seen a friend go through it twice.

    Hope you heal quickly!

  5. Ails you've inspired me. I've booked an appointment to get a filling today. I'd link to my way earlier post if I could be arsed, about how I love going to the dentist and lying back in the chair with the heat and light in my face. It's the closest you get to a sun holiday in Ireland.

  6. Milan - I was discussing the cost of the dentist yesterday. How much should you pay for a filling including the appointment?

  7. 90 euro. Shite but that's that. I'd say they're all round that mark or more. I have to go back for a cleaning and that'll cost 80 quid. I said why don't you do that today too and he came up with some waffle why it should be on another day. I think he just wanted to get the cash out of me. But it was a lovely time lying back with the bright light and the dentist looking after me. This is my second date with this dentist, he's grand but dentistry will never be the same after my dentist of 20 years retired a few years back. A lit bit of me died that day.
