Good afternoon.

My name is Oy (well close enough) and for nine pounds I'll blog once or twice a week. 32 year (nice round number) old male soon to be married. One great kid, a boy just turned 1.

English is not my native language, but I've been told I get along quite well - so I'm sure you'll be able to make sense of me. I'm guessing my improvised Irish folksongs in a taxi home from a party a few years ago is what earned myself an invite. Or?

I'm Norwegian. That means I'm biased in many ways. I eat brown goat cheese. I enjoy beeing all alone in the middle of nowhere without electricity (as long as my iphone has coverage and battery...) Half the year Norway is a hot and sunny place where it never really gets dark. The other half its always dark and cold. It does something with you.

Technology appeals to me. I like to make things tick. At the age of 5 my father gave me his old broken tape recorder for me to "fix". I happily dug into it looking for the broken part , cutting away wires as I peeled it to parts. As years passed I've gotten better at putting things back together too, not only picking things apart.

My career path started early with a C64. That machine made me think I could create anything as long as I had enough time. I still think I can, I know I can. But time is also limited. I've programmed Java since the dot com days, helped build big sites I wont bore you with. You've read a few of them. These days I'm wearing a tie, programming less, talking more. Still helping people create and solve great stuff though. I hope.

See you all around. Looking forward to getting to know you all.

  1. Oy, welcome man. You live is the land of extremes. I can relate to the dark and cold from growing up at home but left all that behind. Looking forward to hearing about your goat herding and middle of nowhere iphone chats.

  2. Hi Oy
is it really a year since your baby was born. Does'nt time fly

  3. Oi Oy, yah hurdy gurdy gurdy! tis good to find you in these murky waters!

Looking forward to some insightful thoughts from you!

  4. Hi Oy, how do you charge your batteries without electricity? Do you have your own generator? LOL

Looking forward to hearing from you.

  5. The dark and cold would have me in the fetal position in bed for those 6 months. You must be made of some strong stuff. Looking forward to see your take on the world.

  6. You're getting married?! Congratulations!!!
